November Progress Report Cards (Grades 1-6) and Parent-Teacher Conferences (Grades 1-6)

posted Oct 30, 2017, 2:04 PM by St. Augustine School

Progress report cards for Grades 1-6 students will be distributed on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

With the Ontario Ministry of Education electronic report card, there are possibilities of human and technical errors.  Please contact your child’s teacher(s) in order to clarify any omissions or errors.

Please remember to sign and return the response form (bottom of page 2) of the progress report card to your child’s teacher before Monday, November 13, 2017.   The response form will be filed in the Ontario Student Record Card (OSR).

Please Note:

  • It is not mandatory that all subjects checked off as ‘progressing very well’ or ‘progressing well’ be accompanied by a written comment.

  • When the IEP box or ESL/ELD box is checked it indicates that achievement is based on expectations modified from the curriculum expectations for the grade.

  • When NA is checked on the progress report card, it indicates that no instruction is being offered for this subject or strand at this time.

Parent-Teacher Conferences for Grades 1 - 6 students will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4:00 -7:30 p.m.

Ten-minute conferences will be scheduled on this day.  For scheduled conferences to be successful, the time limits set must be respected.  Should you require a longer period of time for your conference, please contact the teacher to arrange a conference on a mutually convenient date and time.  Parents who have recently discussed their child’s progress with the teachers or who have regularly kept in contact with teachers may consider these contacts as your “Progress Report Card Conference”.  Your child will bring home your scheduled appointment time by Friday, November 3, 2017.    If you do not receive an appointment time by Tuesday, November 7, 2017, please contact your child’s morning teacher.   It is not necessary for your child to attend the parent-teacher conferences.

On November 20, 2017, the Kindergarten students will bring home  their November Progress Reports. Parent Teacher Conferences for Kindergarten students will be scheduled after November 20, 2017. More information to follow.

Below are some suggestions as to how to prepare for your Parent-Teacher Conference:

  • Ask if there is anything your child wants you to discuss with the teacher.

  • Review recent test scores, notebooks, assignments, projects and agenda.

  • Bring your child’s progress report to the conference.

  • Do not hesitate to ask what the various report card terms mean.

We look forward to seeing you at the conferences
